The Baileys Insurance Team

Neil Bailey

Neil is the company founder and a Director. He has insurance experience spanning more than thirty years, originally working at Royal Insurance in Auckland before leaving to start Baileys in 1986 from his mother's garage. Neil is responsible for the strategic direction of the company and marketing, but a key role is the management of complex and contentious claims issues for clients, reinforcing our platinum claims guarantee.  He also looks after the insurance requirements for some of our key commercial clients, and is heavily involved with pleasure craft and marine insurance, having been a keen sailor since the age of 9.  In his spare time, apart from sailing, he also enjoys travelling, music, catching up with friends & family and testing his culinary skills in the kitchen - much to his wife's delight!

Since those early days, it has been a bit of a whirlwind, and I'm proud of the team we have at Baileys today. Our success has been built around a genuine desire to help our clients, and to always do the right thing. Trust, integrity, stability and reliability are all traits that we possess, and these are what I believe insurance is all about.

Peter McEvoy

Pete is our managing director and a partner.  He is responsible for our day to day operations and specialises in commercial insurance, with extensive knowledge and expertise in this area. Prior to joining Baileys in the year 2000, Pete had seventeen valuable years experience with major NZ Insurance companies, dealing with both brokers and direct clients. Originally from Christchurch and still a Cantabrian at heart (we're working on it!) Pete moved to Auckland with a job transfer in 1993. His insurance experience now totals more than 30 years and he has been an integral part of Baileys' success through his total dedication and professional approach.  After hours, Pete puts a lot of time into his family and has a keen interest in all sports, but especially rugby- being a big Crusaders fan!

Simon Holloway

Simon is a partner in the company, and a senior risk adviser.   He has been involved in insurance for more than twenty five years and ran his own brokerage for fifteen years before joining Baileys in 2010. He has a broad range of experience in all types of insurance and brings valuable expertise to the Baileys team, where he specialises in commercial, construction and liability risks.

In his life outside work Simon is a dedicated family man, and most weekends are spent at the family caravan in Muriwai.  He enjoys swimming and water sports, and is a keen rugby follower.

  My disclosure statement

Rowan Adolph

Rowan recently joined Bailey in 2012, and quickly became a partner in the company.  With insurance experience acquired in both underwriting and broking since 1995, Rowan brings a wealth of knowledge to the Baileys team and is a senior risk adviser.

Having been raised in a boat building family and with yachting being in his blood, it was natural to be involved in the marine industry in some way. Having been a marine underwriter for many years, Rowan moved into a broking role in 2005 and has found his niche. From an insurance perspective, Rowan specialises in broking all commercial insurance lines and is dedicated to ensuring his clients are his number one priority. Rowan's passion for marine based risks remains strong and he has built up a very loyal client base in this area due to his knowledge and expertise.  His spare time is shared between family, sailing, camping and all things outdoors.

  • To all the staff at Baileys, especially Susan and Peter. I would like to thank you all for what you have done over the past two weeks for me.

    - William Langslow (following the completion of a total loss claim for his car)

  • I find the whole team at Baileys to be sincere, honest and frank and I always get to talk to someone when I call without having the hassle of dealing with a telephone system and we all know it's much nicer talking to a real person rather than a machine.

    - Blair McMillan

  • I've dealt with you and Baileys for many years now through my employer's business and have been very pleased with the service you have provided. When we needed to set up the cover for our own shop there was no question that I would come to you.

Over the time we had the business you were always available and never failed to return my calls. Genuine interest is shown in dealing with our concerns and you always explain the various insurance covers in depth. Because neither Sue nor I have a background in this sort of insurance we were especially pleased that your explanations were always put in a way that we could truly understand why we needed what we needed and what it provided for us.

Thanks very much for the great service you provided.
